Better Home & Gardens has ranked Dyson Ball Animal 2 Upright Vacuum the best overall vacuum for pet hair in May 2020.

I used to buy Hoover and Eureka vacuum cleaners for under $200.00. They never lasted long. They always seemed to break or stop working shortly after I bought them.

It sure wasn’t from overuse, because I hate to vacuum. Since I have to vacuum from time to time, I broke down and bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner.

I think my first Dyson cost around $350.00 or $400.00. Wow that was a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner, but it was definitely worth it! I probably used that vacuum cleaner for eight or ten years. It got old, dirty and smelly, but it still worked!

I got a second Dyson (DC65) made for pet hair with all kinds of tools and a bag to put the tools in. I think this one cost $450.00 or $500.00, but again it was worth it! I have been using this one probably five or six years.

My sister was selling Kirby vacuum cleaners and she asked to do a demonstration at my house. My Dyson competed very well with the Kirby. My sister got a little annoyed and said she didn’t want to do anymore demonstrations for Dyson owners. That made me feel even better about my Dyson.

We put down new carpet in our house. The new carpet was a little longer and thick than the last carpet. The Dyson didn’t like it at all. It has so much suction that it would just sink up in the carpet and you couldn’t budge it. You could smell it getting hot!

I searched the internet for a solution. Someone suggested drilling holes in the underneath plastic around the beater brush to allow more airflow. I didn’t want to do that to a $500.00 vacuum cleaner! Someone else suggested adding these slim furniture sliders around the beater brush to raise it up a little. That worked like a charm, much better solution than drilling holes.

On a side note Dyson Vacuum Company committed to make 15,000 ventilators for COVID-19 patients. That makes me feel good about the Dyson Company.
