Say No to Made in China! — We Tried it at Home
It seems like every time I go to the store there are more and more products made in China or other countries. I find fewer and fewer things made in America.
Let’s leave politics and conspiracy theories out of this and play “What If”. You know that old kids game “What If”.
What if we let China and these other countries make almost everything for us?
Things like prescription medication, over the counter medication, food, light bulbs, and even toilet paper.
Now what if China refuses to send those medications or food or other everyday conveniences?
Some People will get sicker and die if they don’t get their medicine. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be hungry, in the dark with NO toilet paper!
This may sound crazy or really extreme, but think about, it could happen. What if China and these other countries don’t make the products to American standards?
We have had people die from hand sanitizer made in Mexico. We have had pets die due to dog treats from China. Who is making sure these other countries don’t poison our products by accident or on purpose?
In March 2008 the FDA put an import ban on toothpaste from China, because it might be contaminated with a poisonous chemical used in antifreeze.
It is a scary thought, when you stop and think about it.
We try really hard to buy products made in America. Clothing is next to impossible, but if you go out of your way, you may find a few clothes still made in America. My husband bought me clothes for Christmas and tried to buy only American made.
I have read that 70–80 percent of Walmart’s products come from China. I know most of Hobby Lobby’s products are made in China. I have tried to find things made in America at Hobby Lobby and it is almost impossible.
If a food doesn’t grow in the United States, that is different, but I am not buying pickles from Vietnam or peaches from Africa.
I won’t buy personal products that are NOT made in America. Things like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, lotion, makeup, deodorant and hand sanitizer need to be made in America with American safety standards.

There are many more not on this list. I know most of the COVID-19 masks are made in China and a lot of the hand sanitizer.
Currently on Facebook, there are several pages and one group “Say No to Made in China”.
America has got to wake up before it is to late! We are becoming too dependent on imported goods.
We buy American made as much a possible. There are times we have left the store empty handed, because we refused to buy foreign made products.
